What people say

Journey of Healing and Recovery helped me build my foundation for a strong recovery. The staff were amazing and always there for me. They helped me through my rough times and laughed with me and cheered me on in my good times. They supported me and held me accountable. They guided me to the truth when I was hiding from it. I’m eternally grateful for their support. They are more than just a halfway house. They care with their whole selves about each and every person that they help. They are the most genuine people I have ever met, and I can honestly say I am not sure where I would be today without them. Thank you, Journey of Healing & Recovery and never stop what you guys are doing. You change so many lives!

It is my honor to share my experience and “journey” at Journey of Healing & Recovery. Coming down here from Long Island in 2016, I did not plan to stay after treatment. I had decided to give it a shot and proceeded to the Journey of Healing and Recovery. I am so grateful for having had them in my life. Although I did not stay sober the first couple of times, I kept coming back and found love and support in my most desperate of times at Journey of Healing and Recovery. It felt like a second family there and I have forever friendships with woman I lived with. It was a place of safety and comfort, that offered support and guidance as I learned to live as a sober woman of integrity. I can honestly say I do not know where I would be today without them, God, and AA. Today I am 2 years sober and about to graduate with my Master’s in Social Work and continue my journey to help others in need, never forgetting where I came from, and who has been there for me. I am forever grateful to Journey of Healing and Recovery.

The home of Journey of Healing and Recovery has been the best thing I have done for my recovery almost 4 years ago. It taught me patience and how to grow sober! The staff are amazing as they definitely care about their residents! To this day, they would still be there for any of their girls/guys. I totally recommend Journey of Healing and Recovery!

I would recommend Journey of Healing and Recovery to anyone trying to stay sober. They genuinely care about the people that come through their houses and are always willing to help- provided you are doing the recovery work on your end of course! They helped me stay on top of my recovery program and provided me with the accountability I needed to stay sober in my early months of recovery. I recently celebrated one year of sobriety, and I know I could not have done it without their help. I am eternally grateful to them.

Journey of Healing and Recovery literally saved my life. It was my second round of rehab, and after going home the first time, I knew staying at halfway was going to be my best chance at sobriety. I was terrified! When I heard about Journey of Healing and Recovery, there was nothing but praise coming from others who chose to go to halfway as well. It was the best decision I ever made. The staff are the most caring, understanding, and relatable people you can ever encounter. They will tell you to call them if you ever need anything, even if it is just to talk, and if you ever decide to, just know they will not only answer, but listen and provide the feedback you NEED to hear, not WANT to hear. The houses have such a family and “homey” feeling. Everything about the houses, the other females in them, and having the staff a phone call away, literally set me up for success. Here I am over a year later, still sober, and I credit JOH for most of it. I honestly miss being there sometimes!

Journey of Healing and Recovery played a major role in my recovery. The staff are not only respected, but they are true symbols of how recovery can change your life. I have an immense amount of admiration for the way they operate Journey. The staff showed me enough compassion, so I felt right at home, but enough diligence to guide me to the next step in my own healing process. The relationship I built with Journey of Healing & Recovery showed me genuine, trusted, and reciprocated patterns that started the foundation of who I have become today. I am truly grateful for Journey.

I was a resident at Journey of Healing and Recovery for about 8 months after I got out of treatment. I had never been to a halfway house before and I was terrified. I didn’t know what to expect. The staff were so kind and understanding that this was uncharted territory for me. They were always there for residents 24/7. They both visited the house regularly and would just sit and chat with us and would always listen to anyone who needed to talk. The rules were extremely fair and held everyone in the house accountable. I always felt safe and comfortable. If you are looking for somewhere that you can feel safe and grow in your recovery, this is the place. Journey of Healing and Recovery houses are run with integrity and respect for everyone. I am so Blessed that I chose Jackson house. I would not be where I am today without Journey of Healing & Recovery. They are truly a light in this world and have helped so many people on their journey to a happy, healthy, and sober life!

I needed to go to halfway after receiving intense inpatient treatment. At first, I did not think I needed this as a steppingstone. I still had my job back home in NJ as well as my apartment. I planned on going back to it. However, like time and time again, every time I went back to NJ I relapsed. I was offered the opportunity to live at Palm Ridge to get more time sober. I am thankful for the staff because without them I would have relapsed again and gone back to my old lifestyle. The staff taught me how to reach out to other women for support and the need to open up when I needed help. After a few months, I realized going home was no longer an option. I truly wanted long term sobriety and a whole new life, a better life. Journey of Healing & Recovery showed me how to do that. I stayed in halfway for well over a year because I needed it. And the staff was always there when I needed them.
